Council to consider bids for street project

Agenda items include variance VW-12-13. This would increase the maximum fence height from 3 feet to 6 feet for an R-2 (Two Family Residential) zoning district (233 W. Sixth St./APN 015-408-14/Rice).

Variance VW-12-15 would reduce the required 5-foot side yard setback to 2 feet on the south side of a property and reduce the required 5-foot rear yard setback to 0 feet on the east side of the property for an R-1-6 (Single Family Residential-6,000 square foot minimum lot size) zoning district. The property is located at 1275 Melarkey St. (APN 016-032-07/Tolbert).

Also scheduled is an ordinance introduction for rezone request RW-12-05/R-1-9 (Single Family Residential-9,000 square foot minimum lot size) to R-1-9 PD (Single Family Residential-9,000 square foot minimum lot size-planned development) zoning district for property located west of Great Basin Avenue and east of Jacobsen Estates (east end of Schreiner Drive)/APN 016-411-35/RJB Partnership-Means.

Another ordinance introduction would amend Winnemucca Municipal Code (WMC) Chapter 15 to adopt the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code.

In addition, the council will consider a request for the waiver of connection fees to the city water system.

Other agenda items include exempt employee salaries-benefits for fiscal year 2012-2013 and a fiscal year 2012-2013 city position and salary range schedule resolution.

Fiscal year 2011-2012 transfer of appropriations between accounts, programs and functions within the General Fund, a transfer of appropriations between funds or from the contingency account and other budget adjustments for fiscal year 2011-2012 are also scheduled.

The council will also consider the release of fiscal year 2012 funding to Sonoma Industries and hear a request for the donation of a used street sweeper and picnic tables.

An amendment to the services agreement regarding land acquisition at the Winnemucca Airport is also scheduled. In addition, the council will review bids and possibly award a contract for the 2012 street reconstruction project.

A temporary street closure request for the Silver State International Rodeo parade will also be considered. The area includes West Winnemucca Boulevard from the Model T parking lot to the intersection with East Winnemucca Boulevard on Wednesday, July 4, at noon.

The council will also discuss a fire service mutual aid agreement with the Bureau of Land Management.
