• The introduction of an ordinance prohibiting medical marijuana dispensaries within the city will be postponed until after the Regional Planning Commission meets on Sept. 11. The RPC is expected to make a recommendation to the council, and the ordinance will eventually define the zoning prohibitions of medical marijuana dispensaries within the City of Winnemucca.
• The Winnemucca Police Department donated a 2009 Crown Victoria to Humboldt General Hospital for use as a paramedic vehicle.
• The Water Department will add a 2014 Ford F-150, complete with a light bar and toolbox, to its fleet. The City will pay De Long Ford $28,275.25 for the vehicle.
• DC Engineering will be designing the power supply improvements for the recreation center complex for $4,000, saving the city $6,000 from an original estimate of $10,000.
• The city will waive green fees for the third annual Louie Peraldo Golf Tournament, held on Sept. 13, and put on by the Frontier Community Coalition.
• In lieu of a monetary donation, the city agreed to waive green fees for a golf tournament during the County Fiscal Officer's Association Conference held on Sept. 9-11.
• The streetscape at the intersection of Winnemucca Boulevard and Melarkey Street is nearing completion and only painting the crosswalk remains to be completed. Metal cutouts of animals representing Winnemuca and Humboldt County will be placed on the walls instead of the city and county emblems. The proposed animals are quail, chukar, big horn sheep, and either a mule deer or antelope.
