Editor:
Please allow us to introduce ourselves. We are Jessica Partee, a senior at Lowry High School, and Rebekah Dorris, a sophomore at Lowry High School. We are also members of FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America), a national high school leadership organization.
We have recently had the honor of competing at the Nevada State FCCLA Convention in Reno and we each placed first in our respective divisions. Consequently, we earned the right to represent Nevada at the National Competition in Orlando, Fla., this July. We are quite proud of our accomplishments and wish to represent our school, our town and our state in this manner. Unfortunately, as this is a relatively new organization to Lowry High School (only three years old) the school does not have the funding to offer sponsorship. Therefore, we are asking the community for help.
There have never been any delegates from Winnemucca that were able to attend, so we'd like to be the first to represent this great town. The entire week-long event will cost approximately $4,000 for both of us to attend. We would greatly appreciate any help that you are able to give us.
Please make checks payable to: Lowry High School FCCLA

Sincerely,
Jessica Partee
