BATTLE MOUNTAIN - The Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health (Community Health) partnered with the Battle Mountain Clinic on Aug. 5 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to administer free high school sports physicals at the Community Health Clinic at 150 Palmer St.
There were 39 physicals given for students who are playing sports (freshmen and juniors) or students who are new to Battle Mountain High School who are playing sports.
Included in the 39, there were 13 clients who received vaccinations that included Mencactra, Varicella, Hep A and Human Papillomavirus (HPV).
The clinic had a busy summer and saw 80 children and teens. Out of those 80, it administered 220 vaccines within a two-month period, officials said.
The Winnemucca Health Fair is Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Events Center and the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health (Battle Mountain Community Health) is assisting.
