Commissioners to make board appointments

Humboldt County Commissioners will hold their first meeting in July on Monday, July 7. The 9:35 administrative report of the agenda includes a quarterly report on Community Development Block Grant projects.

9:45 The Comptroller/Auditor's office will present a resolution adopting the debt management policy and a resolution updating the capital improvement plan - the commissioners will consider adopting those resolutions.

9:55 Commissioners will consider a request from the Treasurer for authorization to proceed with title searches on tax delinquent properties for next year's auction.

10:05 A review of nuisance complaints pending at 4715 West Thomas Canyon Road and at 4056 Sycamore Drive.

10:15 Review and possible approval of an agreement with the Nevada Division of Forestry for use of NDF crews to fight fires.

10:45 Road matters - including review and possible approval of the interlocal agreement with Nevada Department of Transportation for road striping, review and possible approval of a proposal from Louis Kelly to exchange a four-acre lot for the county to bring roads in the Bird Lane area to county standards. Commissioners will consider approval of a proposal to chip seal Hershell Road. The commissioners will consider whether to authorize an increase in the Road Superintendent's salary to retain the existing person or to grant a waiver to the attrition policy for hiring a new Road Superintendent.

Regional Planning Commission (1 vacancy)

Ag. District 3 (2 vacancies)

Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife (3 vacancies)

General improvement Districts including, the Denio TV Maintenance District, Kings River GID, Orovada GID, Paradise Valley Weed Control District, Paradise Valey Sewer District and Puebly Rural Fire Protection District

11:30 Consideration of how to proceed with recruitment for an Assistant County Administrator.

Commission meetings are held in the upstairs meeting room at the courthouse. The public has the opportunity to address the commission regarding agenda items as the discussions take place and is also given the opportunity to address the commission on items not appearing on the agenda at the beginning or the end of meetings.
