WINNEMUCCA - The Humboldt County Board of Commissioners will hold their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in courthouse meeting room #201.
Discussion and action on the correction and possible approval of minutes from the Oct. 17 meeting follows the call to order, Pledge of Allegiance and public comment.
The administrative report follows at 9:35 a.m. Consent agenda items include receipt of the clerk's 3rd Quarter Report and a request for adjustment to the Humboldt County Real Property Tax Roll. Solid waste and public lands planning matters, miscellaneous reports and correspondence and claims for expenditure of county funds follow.
A request for a contribution to the Drug Free, Alcohol Free Senior Party Night is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. That will be followed at 10 a.m. by a public hearing on a nuisance complaint alleging that property belonging to Michael Montgomery is defined as a possible nuisance per Humboldt County Code, Chapter 8.04. The property is located at 150 Mansell St., Golconda, Assessor's Parcel #08-181-07 and the legal description is: .210 acres; lot 11 Block 37, town of Golconda.
Another public hearing is set for 10:15 a.m. on a nuisance complaint alleging that property belonging to the Klecker Trust is defined as a possible nuisance per Humboldt County Code, Chapter 8.04. The property is located at 135 E Fifth St., Golconda, Assessor's parcel #08-181-06 and the legal description is: .260 acres; Lot 9 Block 37, town of Golconda.
Set for 10:30 a.m. is an update and possible direction regarding a nuisance ordered abated at 4650 W. Winnemucca Blvd. on property owned by Robert and Beverly Shell. That will be followed at 10:45 a.m. by a request from Rodd Stowell to discuss broadcasting county commission meetings on cable TV.
Assessor's Office items are scheduled for 11 a.m. These include a request for approval to purchase a new phone system and have it installed and authorize the chairman to sign the agreement. Also scheduled is adoption of a resolution directing the Assessor to take certain actions regarding the secured tax roll, along with a report from the Assessor regarding recent out of state travel for Pictometry.
Road matters are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Scheduled items include a report of pending Road Department projects and miscellaneous road-related matters (if any).
Commissioners will hear a request from the Library Board at 1:30 p.m. to discuss the current bookmobile regarding possible changes to the heating and cooling units, dust issues and possible replacement. That will be followed at 1:45 p.m. by a request from Nevada Muleys and the Nevada Chukar Foundation for possible assistance in rehabilitation of lands in the Hot Springs Range burned during the 2011 fire season.
A joint meeting between the commission and Winnemucca City Council is scheduled for 2 p.m. The boards will hear a presentation by the Northern Nevada Recreation Coalition regarding the Water Canyon Yurt project. They will also review and possibly approve the updated Airport land sale commission policy and discuss and possibly approve joining the Western Nevada Development District.
At 2:30 p.m. commissioners will hear a request to solicit proposals for retention of a qualified independent consultant to review, evaluate and comment on Jungo's application to NDEP for a class 1 landfill.
