Commission to discuss Humboldt appointment to state land committee

WINNEMUCCA - The Humboldt County Board of Commissioners will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in courthouse meeting room 201.

The meeting begins with the call to order, Pledge of Allegiance, public comment and discussion and possible correction and/or approval of the Dec. 19 and Jan. 3 meeting minutes.

The administrative report is scheduled for 9:35 a.m. Consent agenda items include approval of CDBG quarterly reports. Other items include solid waste and public lands planning matters, miscellaneous reports and correspondence, the annual inspection of the adult detention facility and claims for expenditure of county funds.

At 9:45 a.m. commissioners will discuss the development of recommendations to the governor for the appointment of a Humboldt County representative to the State Land Use Planning Advisory Committee (SLUPAC). That will be followed at 10 a.m. by the adoption of a proclamation declaring January 2012 as National Radon Action Month in Humboldt County.

Comptroller/Auditor's Office items are scheduled for 10:05 a.m. They include approval of a petition and resolution for exemption for the Winnemucca Rural Fire District, Quinn River Television District, Humboldt Fire Protection District and Denio TV District.

At 10:15 a.m. commissioners will hear a request from the library for a waiver to the attrition policy for a library assistant position which is currently vacant. That will be followed at 10:30 a.m. by the review of previous nuisance complaints, including an alleged nuisance complaint on property belonging to Michael Montgomery located at 150 Mansell St., Golconda, Assessor's Parcel #08-181-07.

Planning matters are scheduled for 10:45 a.m. First up is continuation of the public hearing on TH-11-04. This is a text amendment to Chapter 17.20 AG District of the Humboldt County Code to add recreational vehicles as a permitted use with the re-lettering to reflect the addition of recreational vehicles; amend home occupations to reflect home based businesses.

Next up is continuation of the public hearing on TH-11-08. This is a text amendment to Chapter 17.44 M-3 District of the Humboldt County Code to add recreational vehicles as a permitted use and re-letter to allow for the addition of recreational vehicles; to amend home occupations to reflect home based businesses.

Audit services are scheduled for 11 a.m. This includes termination of an agreement with Kafoury, Armstrong and Co. (if any) and approval of a letter of engagement with Drake Rose and Associates for the audit for the year ending June 30, 2012, and authorize the chair to sign.

Road matters are scheduled for 11:15 a.m. Scheduled items include approval of STIP projects for 2012, including prioritization of projects, a report of pending Road Department projects and miscellaneous road-related matters (if any).
