Commission meets Monday, October 6th

Humboldt County Commissioners will meet Monday morning, Oct. 6 starting at 9:30 a.m. Agenda items are as follows.

9:30 - Public comment, minutes

9:35 - Administrative report

9:45 - Commissioners will consider adoption of a proclamation declaring October Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Humboldt County

9:50 - Consideration of approving an amount not to exceed $5,000 for the Nevada 150/Nevada Day Parade float

10 - Review of the Regional Planning Commission recommendations regarding zones in which medical marijuana facilities should be allowed and direction to the Humboldt County District Attorney's office for drafting of an ordinance

10:15 - Review of progress toward abatement of a declared nuisance at 4715 West Thomas Canyon Drive owned by Jesse W. Pearson.

10:30 - Planning matters, including:

A public hearing on a zone change request submitted by Lucille Maga along with Brad Holgate with Transfuels Retail Operation, LLC. The request is to change the zoning at 4505 West Winnemucca Boulevard from commercial to industrial.

The commissioners will set to public hearing a zone change application from Mike Breiner with Five County Ventures, Inc. to change zoning for property off of Bonnefield street from single family residential with 6,000 square foot minimum lot size to a multiple family district.

10:45 - Cindy Ulch with the Nevada Department of Health will report on environmental health work for which the county pays a portion of the cost.

11 - Road Matters - a request for a waiver to the attrition policy to fill an equipment operator position which is currently vacant.

11:15 - Hearing based on a policy adopted May 5, 1997 regarding release of water from Chimney Reservoir for stock watering.

Public comment will follow the meeting agenda. Commission meetings are held in the upstairs meeting room at the courthouse.
