Clyde Don Clark, 75, peacefully went to be with his savior in the early morning hours of Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, in Reno Nev.
Clyde was born on Sept. 14, 1938 in Denver, Colo., to Oren James Clark and Alma Marie Honeycutt. He spent his early years in Yuba City and Marysville, Calif. At 17 Clyde joined the United States Navy and proudly served on the USS Columbus C-74 as a gunners mate from 1958-1961. During this time he met the love of his life, Becky, on a blind date. They married on Feb. 14, 1959, and were happily married for 43 years. Clyde and Becky raised their four children in Alaska where he worked as a logger, carpenter and skilled mechanic. He built several Homes in the North Pole area about 11 miles outside of Fairbanks as well as in California. He also owned and operated A-1 and AATCO Transmission centers in Fairbanks.
Clyde loved to spend time with his family fishing, shooting guns, telling stories, riding motorcycles, snow machines and spending time in the great outdoors. He was a kind, loving and hardworking husband, father and friend with a great sense of humor. He always had a smile on his face and had an adventurous spirit that was seen in his many stories. He is loved by so many and will be greatly missed but will be remembered by the many humorous stories that will continue to be told.
Clyde leaves behind three sons Mark (Jody) Clark, Todd Clark and Michael Clark all of Winnemucca, Nev., a daughter Robin (Dave) Hudson of Shelton, Wash., three grandsons Jacob Hudson of Shelton, Wash., Jesse (Sarah) Culpepper and Adam (CJ) Culpepper of Winnemucca, Nev., and two great-grandsons Brenton Hall Culpepper and Owen Clark Culpepper of Winnemucca. Clyde also leaves behind two sisters, Bonnie Patrick of Yuba City, Calif., and Norma Hardin of Lake Don Pedro, Calif., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents Oren and Alma Clark, and his wife Rebecca (Becky) Clark.
"IT'S A BEAUTIFULL DAY! GOD IS SMILING ON US." Clyde lived by these words every day rain or shine. For you, Daddy, love always, Annie girl.
Graveside services will be held on Jan. 10, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Winnemucca Cemetery.[[In-content Ad]]
