Doug Clarke is the new acting district ranger for the U.S. Forest Service, Santa Rosa Ranger District introduced himself to the Humboldt County Commissioners and the public as well. Clarke will be doing the job of district ranger left open when former district ranger Jeff Ulrich was transferred to Bridgeport as a district ranger. Clarke said he will be here until the Forest Service successfully hires a replacement for Ulrich. Clarke said he will attend the educational meeting on proposed sage grouse action by federal agencies on Dec. 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Winnemucca Inn.
Clarke started with the Forest Service in 1980 on the Nez Perce National Forest in Idaho. He's been at the Elko USFS office since 1995 as a planner. Clarke will be available to answer questions regarding Secure Rural Schools funding, Sage Grouse concerns, or other Forest Service Issues.[[In-content Ad]]
