WINNEMUCCA - Wanted, accompanist: the Winnemucca Civic Chorus is currently an a capella group in need of an accompanist. They are growing tired of singing without it and would love it if someone would share their time and talent with them.
Music, fun and a weekly therapy session is their motto. The members love entertaining and always welcome new voices. What they really need right now is someone to play for them.
If you play piano or guitar or any instrument, or know someone who does, the chorus would greatly appreciate your help. The group extends an open invitation to join them whether you sing or play, but especially if you play. Rehearsals are every Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the French Ford Middle School band portable.
They are currently preparing for the Spring Concert, which is set for May 18 - 19. The musicians will then break for summer and pick it up again in September to prepare for their Christmas performance. Typically they do two major performances, Spring and Christmas, with maybe a few smaller things thrown in time and schedules permitting.
