City council to meet Tuesday at 2 p.m. August 7, 2012

WINNEMUCCA - The Winnemucca City Council will meet on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at City Hall, 90 W. Fourth St.

The meeting begins with the call to order, Pledge of Allegiance, correction and possible approval of the July 24 minutes, review and possible approval of warrants.

Agenda items include a request to use the sports complex for hot air balloon launch site on Saturday, Oct. 20, and Sunday, Oct. 21, from 7 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. There is a request to use Vesco City Park for "Fifth Quarter" event after Lowry High School football games on Friday's Sept. 7, 21, 28, and Oct. 19, from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

At 2:15 p.m. there will be a public hearing and possible ordinance adoption and voluntary request to annex areas of unincorporated property contiguous to city limits as follows: Humboldt County APN 010-147-01 situate southerly of East Winnemucca Boulevard in the NE1/4 of Section 21, T.36N., R.38E., M.D.B.&M., Winnemucca, Humboldt County, Nevada; and, (ii) Humboldt County APN 010-147-02 situate southerly of East Winnemucca Boulevard in the SE1/4 and the SW1/4 of Section 21, T.36N., R.38E., M.D.B.&M., Winnemucca, Humboldt County, Nevada.

A ordinance introduction/Master Plan Amendment MP-12-01/request to change a portion of parcel from MDR (Medium Density-Residential) to COMM (Commercial) designation and, portion of parcel from MDR (Medium Density-Residential) to MHDR (Medium High Density-Residential) designation, on property located southerly of East Winnemucca Boulevard in the S1/2 of Section 21, T.36N., R.38E., M.D.B.&M., Winnemucca, Humboldt County, Nevada.

A ordinance introduction/rezone application RW-12-08/request to change a portion of parcel from RR-13 (Rural Ranchette-13,000 sf minimum lot size) to G-C (General Commercial) zoning district; a portion of parcel from RR-13 (Rural Ranchette-13,000 sf minimum lot size) to R-1-9 (Single Family-Residential-9,000 sf minimum lot size) zoning district; and a portion of parcel from RR-13 (Rural Ranchette-13,000 sf minimum lot size) to R-1-6 (Single Family-Residential-6,000 sf minimum lot size) zoning district, on property located southerly of East Winnemucca Boulevard in the S1/2 of Section 21, T.36N., R.38E., M.D.B.&M., Winnemucca, Humboldt County, Nevada.

A ordinance introduction/rezone application RW-12-09/request to change CH (Commercial Highway) to G-C (General Commercial) zoning district on property located on East Winnemucca Boulevard in the NE1/4 of Section 21, T.36N., R.38E., M.D.B.&M., Winnemucca, Humboldt County, Nevada.

A ordinance introduction/rezone application RW-12-10/request to change a portion of parcel from E (Estates) to G-C (General Commercial) zoning district and a portion of parcel from E (Estates) to R-1-6 (Single Family Residential-6,000 sf minimum lot size) zoning district, on property located southerly of East Winnemucca Boulevard in the E1/2 of SE1/4 of Section 21, T.36N., R.38E., M.D.B.&M., Winnemucca, Humboldt County, Nevada.

There will be a proposal for transfer of private property to city in exchange for street improvements to Museum Lane and a proposal from Nevada Department of Transportation to transfer ownership of Haskell Street to the city. Last on the agenda is a bid review and award for purchase of pick-up truck.
