WINNEMUCCA - The Winnemucca City Council will hold its regularly scheduled meeting today at 2 p.m. at City Hall, 90 W. Fourth St.
The meeting begins with the call to order, Pledge of Allegiance and possible approval of the Oct. 18 regular meeting minutes and warrants. Public and personal communication and correspondence follows.
Agenda items include a request for support and funding assistance from the 2012 Drug and Alcohol Free High School Graduation Committee.
There are two variance requests scheduled. VW-11-14 would reduce a side yard setback from 5 feet to 1 foot/R-1-6 MHC (Single Family Residential-6,000 sf minimum lot size-Manufactured Home Combining) zoning district/4135 Guthrie Ave./APN 016-312-02/Mojica. VW-11-15 would reduce a front yard setback from 20 feet to 19 feet/LM (Limited Manufacturing) zoning district/935 N. Highland/APN 016-301-17/Desert Mountain Surveying-Billingsley Family Trust.
A public hearing-ordinance adoption is scheduled for rezone application RW-11-03. This is a request to change an R-1-12 (Single Family Residential-12,000 sf minimum lot size) to an R-1-9 (Single Family Residential-9,000 sf minimum lot size) zoning district for property located southerly of Whitaker Drive and easterly of the Great Basin and Offenhauser Drive intersection/APN 016-591-01/KLS Planning & Design-Snow.
A public hearing-resolution adoption is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on a request for partial street abandonment. This is for a portion of Pershing Street lying between Blocks 12, 13, 14 and 15 of the Boca Mill Addition No. 2 subdivision, also described as all of Pershing Street from East Fourth Street to the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way/APNs 015-222-02, -04, -05, -06, -07 and 015-223-06/Desert Mountain Surveying-Miller Family Trust-Warn.
Also scheduled is a donation of one 2006 BMW motorcycle to the police department from the Winnemucca Police Officers Association.
