City council to consider zoning variance for hotel

WINNEMUCCA - Winnemucca Hotels LLC has requested a zoning variance from the city to increase the building height to 45 feet to accommodate a proposed three-story hotel at 460 East Winnemucca Boulevard.

In other business, the council, which meets Tuesday at 2 p.m. at city hall, 90 West Fourth Street, will discuss and possibly take action on:

•A request to purchase property at Winnemucca Municipal Airport Industrial Park.

•A proposed new city fire station and authorization to request proposals from architectural firms for design services.

•Operations plan for proposed Youth Family Teen Center. City officials will possibly determine that weight room equipment at the recreation building is no longer required for public use and authorization to sell equipment at public auction.

•The terms and conditions for renewal of agreement to provide golf professional services at the city's municipal golf course with golf pro Rick Longhurst.
