Church of the Good Sheppard prepares for Christmas

Angel Tree Project under way

LOVELOCK - It's that time of year again. The Church of the Good Shepherd in Unionville has placed sign-up boxes at the Imlay Post Office and the Star Point Trading Post in Mill City.

Parents who may not have enough money to make this a good Christmas for their child or children are encouraged to fill out a card at either location and put it in the box. The child's name, gender, age, address, clothing size and special wish should be put on the card.

"No names or addresses will be shared and there will be no names on the angels that will be put on the trees," said D.W. Hutson, pastor of the Church of the Good Shepherd.

Participation is open to any child from infant to 18 years old who lives in the greater Imlay area, including Mill City, Buena Vista Valley, Unionville and Dun Glen.

"Your income, church affiliation or anything like that is not important. If you feel that your child needs to be on the Angel Tree put the name in the box," Hutson said.

The boxes will be picked up after Thanksgiving and the Angel Trees will be put out at the beginning of December.

"Remember, this is all strictly homegrown and strictly volunteer. We are not connected with any government agency," Hutson said.

Angels will be available to pick from at both locations for those who would like to make a child's Christmas a little happier this year. For more information, call the Church of the Good Shepherd at 538-7570.
