Christina Gonzalez

Christina Gonzalez passed away peacefully on June 29, 2013, of natural causes.

She was born in San Pedro Sanmuel, Burgos, Spain on Feb. 27, 1924. She came to this country 58 years ago following her husband Julio, who moved here previously to establish a better life for their family. Christina brought her first born, Alfonso, to this country when he was 5 years old.

Julio and Christina eventually settled in Winnemucca, Nev., along with other Basque settlers, which they called home. They had their second child Anna, who was born in Winnemucca.

Christina worked several jobs in her life time, but the job she loved the most was spending time with her two granddaughters, Lexi and Madi, who were the pride and joy of her life. She enjoyed family outings, going hunting, fishing and spending time in Paradise Valley, Nev.

Her hobbies included crocheting, cooking and playing Mus with Basque friends. Christina looked forward to her evening walks with her husband, Julio. Well known for her great cooking, many friends were treated to great meals.

Christina is preceded in death by her husband Julio. She is survived by her son, Alfonso Gonzalez, (Winnemucca), Anna Ferrari (Doug) Sacramento, granddaughters Lexi and Madi Gonzalez and several relatives in Spain.

Per Christina's wishes no services are planned. The family will have a private celebration of life.

In lieu of flowers, you may donate to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank Harmony Manor for the care of our mother.[[In-content Ad]]
