Christian Malas Echevarria was born on March 2, 1991 at Humboldt General Hospital in Winnemucca. He was tragically taken from us in an automobile accident on Jan. 6, 2014.
He attended kindergarten in Winnemucca and first through eighth grade at Paradise Valley Elementary School. He graduated from Lowry High School in 2009. He then attended Boise State University for a year before earning a degree in Business Technology from Eastern Idaho Technical College. While attending EI Tech, he received his EMT Certification, and subsequently joined the EMS team at Humboldt General Hospital.
He participated in football, basketball, and excelled in track and field winning state championships in the 200m dash and the long jump. He participated in 4H, FFA, and rodeo. He loved anything outdoors, especially snow and skateboarding.
He is survived by parents Bryn and Gary Echevarria, his sister Alicia Echevarria, grandparents Monte and Patricia Siegner, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Joe "Dooley" and Grace Echevarria. A viewing will be held at Albertson's Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Services are to be held in Paradise Valley on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Paradise Valley New Building Fund, PO Box 55, Paradise Valley, NV 89426.[[In-content Ad]]
