Chris Mendoza wins Jeff Wade Memorial junior golf tournament, Dendary tops on girls side

WINNEMUCCA - The 2013 Winnemucca junior golf season came to an end Wednesday with the Jeff Wade Memorial golf tournament, which was won by Chris Mendoza.

Mendoza carded a 2-over par 74 at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course. Andy Mendoza was three shots back at 77 for second and Josh Shaver was third with an 80. Hunter Dimock and Trevor Stannard tied for fourth with rounds of 95 and Liam Sparks shot a 97.

Alyssa Dendary fired a career best 76 to lead the way in the girls 15- to 17-year-old division, while Ning Landt was second with a 106. Elise Rose placed third with a 124.

In the boys 13- to 14-year old division, Zane Fifield won with a 50. Dalton Irons placed second at 51, Caden Smith (74) was third and Dallas Rogers (85) finished fourth.

Brooklyn Backus took home the top spot in the girls 13- to 14-year-old division with a 64, while Kelsey Dalley was third at 73.

Lilly Landt won the girls 11- to 12-year-old age group with a round of 51. Savannah Dalley (74) and Stacey Horton (79) were second and third, respectively.

Dillon Patterson bested the field in the boys 11 to-12-year-old group with a 46, with Kobe Stoker second at 55. Will Kracaw shot a 57 to place third and Logan Peters (62), Shay Brown (63) and Zach Wolverton (63) rounded out the top five.

Jordan Parker (67), Chayton Drobny (71), Max Mavity (72), Rian DeLong (78) rounded out the scores in the division.

Gianni Giordano shot a 60 to win the boys 8- to 10-year-old group. Tyler Piquet was second with a 63, Justin Horton was third at 68 and Joe Ramos (77) and Sammy Radtke (84) were fourth and fifth, respectively.

In the girls 8- to 10-year-old division, Megan Li won with a 63 and Tea Novi was second at 72. Angelina Martinez placed third at 73, Josi Ellifritz was fourth at 78 and Raygan Metcalf was fifth with an 82.
