Abundant Tree

What: The Abundant Tree serves foster children primarily in Humboldt County, but may also extend to Pershing and Lander Counties.

Where: Tags are available at Humboldt Printers (405 W. Fourth Street) and Humboldt General Hospital (118 E. Haskell Street).

When: Tags became available Nov. 19. Participants are asked to return unwrapped gifts with the tag to Humboldt Printers by 5 p.m., Dec. 10.

Hope Tree

What: The Hope Tree provides "leaves" for purchase as a way to fund the newly-formed Solace Tree grief support group. It is spearheaded by the Frontier Community Action Agency.

Where: The tree is located at Phillips Furniture, 140 S. Bridge Street.

When: Leaves are available now and throughout the holiday season.

Stuff the Bus (food and toy drive)

What: Newmont Mining's annual food and toy drive benefits the local Winnemucca Food Bank, Humboldt County School District and Winnemucca Domestic Violence services. Items will be distributed by Newmont employees following the event.

Where: Buses will be located in the Raley's parking lot and Khoury's parking lot from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30.

The Giving Tree for Seniors

What: The Giving Tree provides needed items to senior citizens (age 60+) in our community. Seniors' names are provided on a tag along with a gift wish list.

Where: Tags are available at the Humboldt Sun (1022 S. Grass Valley Road) starting Nov. 23 and gifts are due back by Friday, Dec. 14.

Help for the Homeless Warmth Drive

What: New or gently used blankets, sleeping bags, coats, hats, gloves, etc. are being collected for our community's homeless that lack proper shelter (mainly adult men and women).

Where: Collection boxes are currently set up at Lowry High School, Winnemucca Christian Fellowship, French Ford Middle School and Sonoma Heights Elementary School. Items will be collected throughout the holiday season and will begin being distributed Nov. 24 and thereafter.



The Angel Tree

What: Sponsored by Beta Sigma Phi, the Angel Tree provides toys to our community's less fortunate children, extending to the tri-county area.

Where: Tags will be available on the Angel Tree Nov. 23 and gifts due back by Tuesday, Dec. 18. The Angel Tree is located at Bank of America, 1005 W. Fourth Street in Winnemucca.
