MCDERMITT - The guidance counselor at McDermitt Combined School has created and been implementing the "McDermitt Character Trait of the month club." This is the seventh year of the character trait club. This club recognizes specific students every month who best demonstrate the monthly character trait. The guidance counselor teaches character trait lessons in the classroom. In addition, we send home information to parents about the trait and how they can help their children practice the trait.
Every month, each teacher picks one student from each class (K-6) who best demonstrated the monthly character trait. That student goes to reward party at the end of the month provided by counselor Kelly Pinkston
For the month of January the character trait was Compassion
