Chamber planning events throughout the summer

More community involvement needed

LOVELOCK - The Pershing County Chamber of Commerce is planning special events throughout the summer.

This Saturday, June 15, the chamber will kick-off its summer events with an arts and crafts show at the Lovelock Depot from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Events organizer Jana Laird said she has eight local artists, crafters and photographers confirmed for the show, plus participation from some local businesses.

The next event will be at the Pershing County Courthouse Park on the Fourth of July following the Kiddie Parade, which starts at 10 a.m. The event is open to all local youth groups and service organization to raise funds for their various causes.

On July 20, Laird said, Jennifer Osborn will host a recycled art workshop at the Lovelock Depot from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The workshop is open to people of all ages to participate in making their own art out of recycled items. Please call to reserve your space.

Laird is also planning a garden tour later in the summer as a fundraiser for the chamber. She is asking for people who would like to show off their gardens to call her at 273-3707 or 240-0917. More information with a date and tour route will be given as it comes available.[[In-content Ad]]
