Cathlee Emmert died at Harmony Manor on the morning of Aug. 19, 2014. She was born in Edgefield County, S.C., on Sept. 24, 1921.
She lived in South Carolina through her childhood, marrying Willard Hendrix there. They moved to the Washington, D. C. area where they later divorced and she married Roger Emmert. She remained in the D. C. area until 1969 when she moved to Reno, Nev., to be closer to her son and grandchildren. She moved to Winnemucca in 1989 and lived at Willowbrook Apartments until 2008 when she moved to Harmony Manor.
Cathlee spent most of her life working in retail with Sears and Hecht Department stores, where she was trained as a specialist in women's lingerie. While in Reno she used her skills on the switchboard at a variety of places including St. Mary's Hospital, Jessie Beck's Riverside, and the Sundowner. She also worked at Parker's Western Wear for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Emmert, her infant daughter Glenda, her sister Mary Ruth Judy, and her grandson Luke Hendrix.
She is survived by her son, Ron Hendrix (Margo) of Seeley Lake, Mont., her sisters Helen Randall and Johnnie Reid of Aiken, S.C., a brother, F.J. Randall (Shirley) of North Augusta, S.C., and a granddaughter, Niki Bronec (Alan) of Missoula, Mont., and four great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at the Winnemucca cemetery. Pastor Nathaniel Rhodes of Word of Light Fellowship conducted the service.

The family truly appreciates the care and love that has been showered on Cathlee during her years at Harmony Manor. A special thank you goes out to Doreen Whitted for her many visits and the chocolate bars and to Pastor Nate and Pastor Gayle for their love and prayers.
