WINNEMUCCA - Commissioner Dan Cassinelli will serve one more time as chairman of the Humboldt County Commission.
This is Cassinelli's last year on the commission, as he will be termed out at the end of this year. He previously served as commission vice chair twice and was chairman in 2003. Commissioner Garley Amos was elected to serve as vice chair this year. Amos has been on the commission since 2005, and has previously served as vice chair twice and chair once.
The commissioners decided to keep things simple this year and retain their current board and committee assignments. Although commission meetings are usually held only twice a month, commissioners serve as county government representatives on many other boards and committees.
All of the commissioners serve on the Building Board of Appeals, Humboldt County Fire Board, Humboldt County Protection District, County Board of Health and Liquor Board. In addition, they each have separate assignments.
Cassinelli will continue to serve on the Winnemucca Convention and Visitors Authority, the Regional Transportation Commission, Board of Equalization, the Humboldt Foundation, and as an alternate on the Nevada Association of Counties Board of Directors.
Amos will continue to serve on the Landfill Committee, the Humboldt River Basin Water Authority, the Regional Transportation Commission, Water Canyon Advisory Committee, Welfare and Indigent Services Committee, and as an alternate on the NACO Board of Directors and State Land Use Planning Advisory Committee.
Commissioner Marlene Brissenden will continue to serve on the Hospital Board, Debt Management Commission and as an alternate to the NACO Board of Directors.
Commissioner Mike Bell will continue to represent county government on the Humboldt Development Authority, the Local Emergency Planning Committee, and as a NACO Board of Directors alternate.
Commissioner Jim French serves on the NevadaWorks Board, the Landfill Committee, the NACO Board of Directors and is an alternate for the Humboldt River Basin Water Authority.[[In-content Ad]]
