Carlos Albert Castillo Jr.

Carlos Albert Castillo Jr. was born in Santa Monica, Calif., to Frances and Carlos Castillo Sr. on July 8, 1933, and passed away Jan. 30, 2013, at Renown Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.

After college at UCLA, Carlos served in the Korean War as a marine, then law enforcement in Los Angeles for three years and then worked for a poultry company for 36 years, from which he retired and then moved to Winnemucca.

Carlos enjoyed his home, his family, his cats, his cars and the quiet life of retirement listening to classical singer Jackie Evancho with his beloved wife. Carlos is survived by his wife of 33 years, Delphina, his sisters and brothers, Delores, Oldes, Luke and Isabella and Carlos's two sons, Richard and Louis Castillo. Along with Delphina's daughter Patricia and husband, Gabriel Valladares, their three children Elizabeth, Vivian and Gabriela and Gabrielas husband Luis Garcia, their children Rhiana and Ryan from Katy Texas and then Delphinas son Ray and his wife Jolena Silva and their children Andres and Machaela from Carona, Calif.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 1 p.m. at the Walton Funeral Home, 1745 Sullivan Lane, Sparks, Nev. 89431. A memorial service will be held in Winnemucca at Saint Paul's Catholic Church on Sunday, Feb. 10, at 11:30 a.m.
