Call for participation in the Veterans Day Parade

Honoring veterans and current servicemen and their friends and families is what the annual Veterans Day parade in Winnemucca is all about.

The Veterans Day parade is Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. sharp.

The call is out for all veterans and their families to "come on down and be in the parade." A challenge has been issued to the high school for the clubs (Rodeo club, FFA, Letterman's club, and others), as well as the sports teams and all the classes (freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors) cheer leaders, band and choir members to be part of Winnemucca's Veterans Day Parade to show support for veterans, servicemen and those who love them.

Local Boy and Girl Scout troops participated last year and are specially invited to be there this year, too.

Anyone who would be willing to be in the parade need do nothing more than show up.

Everyone else is invited to show support for veterans by lining the street on both sides to view the parade Tuesday morning, Nov 11, at 11 a.m. The short parade route is down Bridge Street from the Martin Hotel to Tallman Lumber just before the overpass.

Lineup for the parade will be Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 10:30 a.m. on Railroad Street in front of the Martin Hotel.

Questions can be directed to Anita Paquette at 304-4865 or Barbara Stanton at 421-6080.[[In-content Ad]]
