Bootstraps is a group of 18-25-year-olds who are hired by the Lander County Cooperative Extension office under grants provided by various entities. The young adults are hired to provide them job and life skills, in addition to doing pinion and juniper removal to assist with sage grouse habitat restoration. They are currently working under a grant provided by Bureau of Land Management for projects in Grass Valley, which is located in Lander County about 30 miles north of Highway 50.
