WINNEMUCCA - The Buckaroo Wrestling Club was on its home turf as part of the High Desert Challenge at the Winnemucca Event Center on Friday, Feb. 22, and Saturday, Feb. 23.
There were over 25 teams from northern Nevada, California and Idaho. The Buckaroo Wrestling Club finished third as a team. Ruby Mountain (Spring Creek) was first, followed by the Elko Wrestling Club.
Cade Billingsley finished first in both the freestyle and folkstyle divisions, while David Walker was first in his weight class in the freestyle competition. Jackson Brown and Quint Bell were tops in their respective weight classes in the folkstyle competition.
Merrill Terry, Dillon Cokk, Jaxon Unrein, Donavan Walker, Mikayla Dossey, Chandler Leiter, AJ Gonzalez, Brown and Bell finished second in freestyle.
Hunter Smith, Adam Dossey, Hunter Christiansen, Trent McKellips, Coda Nichols, Set Duncan and Cade Bell were third. Mason Railey, Travis Terry, Yahir Avalos and Gary Coleman placed fourth and Isaac Mori, Ryan Johnson, Kas Bachman, Felix Munoz and Brogan Atkins were fifth.
Taylor Corak, Nathen Blanco and James Rackley wrestled but did not place.
In folkstyle on the second day, Cash Gillihan, Mikayla Dossey, Merill Terry, Trase Bell, Walker and Nichols each finished second.
Travis Terry, Felix Munoz, Roan Hornbarger, Seth Hornbarger, Smith and McKellips placed third. Rylan Browner, Adam Dossey, Christiansen, Blanco, Bachman, Gonzalez, Atkins and Leiter finished fourth.
Cade Bell, Walker, Rackley and Mori all placed fifth and Sam Boyer and Avalos wrestled but did not place.
