Buckaroo junior varsity football team remains undefeated with easy road win at Wooster

Lowry returns home to play South Tahoe tonight

WINNEMUCCA - The Lowry High School junior varsity football team remained undefeated on the year following its 40-8 win at Wooster on Friday, Sept. 13, but it came at a cost.

The Buckaroos (2-0 Division I-A, 2-0 overall) saw the injury bug hit two of their running backs and quarterback in the blowout victory.

"It was a rough start for us," said LHS coach Taua Cabatbat. "It took us a while to get going in the first half, and we had key position players go down with injuries and we had to find guys to fill those spots."

Alan Mayorga and Michael Wing each scored a pair of touchdowns for the Buckaroos, while Kyle Tarr and Caleb Ahnefeld each had one score.

"We came out and played better in the second half," Cabatbat said. "It took us a while to get in synch."

Lowry returns to its home field tonight to play South Tahoe at 4:30 p.m.
