Bryan Ames

Bryan Leo Ames, age 51, of Bluebell, Utah, left this life on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, in a tragic semi-truck rollover in Indian Canyon.

He was born May 23, 1960, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Leo Arwin and Shirley Ann Iorg Ames. He attended school in Vernal until he was 11 years old then moved with his family to Altonah where he worked with his dad on the family farm. He graduated from Altamont High School in 1978. He married his sweetheart, Sandy Goodrich, on Aug. 29, 1980. They were sealed for all eternity in the Provo LDS Temple on March 26, 1982. Bryan had a great sense of humor and was always a tease. He couldn't resist tickling or pinching the girls. He always had a story to share. Bryan was a natural athlete, exceeding in wrestling and baseball. When he was 12 his little league baseball team made it to the World Series in California. He passed this talent down to his children and coached their softball and baseball teams. His favorite past time with the family was playing sports and going wood cutting.

Bryan and his family lived in Kansas, New Mexico, and Battle Mountain. They eventually returned to the Basin making their home in Bluebell. He enjoyed farming, but more than that he enjoyed producing a garden. He kept the entire family and neighborhood in potatoes. He said working in his garden made him feel like he was in Heaven. He owned and operated his own semi-truck which fulfilled his lifelong dream.

He loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren were the light of his life. He has five grandchildren with one more arriving any day. He was very loved and will be greatly missed.
