Have you heard...small bumps in the night? Creaking noises? Felt sudden blasts of cold air? Could it be ghosts, or worse, vampires? Oh but they don't exist right? Has to be the pink ladies rustling up another blood drive and making noise about it!
Beginning in 1982 blood drives have been sponsored twice each year by the Hospital Auxiliary in conjunction with the United Blood Services from Reno and held in our convention center. This year's dates and times are March 25 at noon until 6 p.m. and March 26 at 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Please save those dates! At the end of the drive, blood is packed up and United Blood Services transports it to Reno for testing and typing. From there it is distributed around the state to the hospitals as needed.
As always, the people of the Humboldt County recognize the need and contribute generously. Many of you have given year after year so we hope to see you again this time! The next drive will be in six months. Those donors under 18 years of age must have their parents consent.
Of course, there are perks attached to this project, the best one is that all who give may call the United Blood Service and receive their cholesterol numbers for no charge. Second but by no means least, a smiling pink lady will offer you juice and cookies!
We urge you to join us in this service. For so many reasons, blood is needed by many. We'll remind you again before the dates and thanks in advance for your help![[In-content Ad]]
