Raven Black led the way for the Buckaroos over the two days, as she set a personal-best mark of 4 feet, 11 inches, to finish third in the high jump. Madison Foley of Dayton won the event at 5-02.

Rachel Sigurdson tied for fourth in the pole vault with Virgin Valley's Taylor Bryant, clearing 8-06. Churchill County's Maddie Alegere won at 9-03.

The Lady Bucks had a pair of seventh-place finishes in the 100-meter dash and 200 meters, respectively. On Friday evening, Alex Schirrick ran the 100 at 13.50, which was .27 seconds out of third place in the closely contested race. On Saturday afternoon, Auri Criddle was seventh in the 200 meters with a time of 27.95. Criddle was. 43 seconds out of second place.

Schirrick and Criddle were also half of the 4x100 and 4x200 relay along with Taylor LaTray and Meg Montero. The foursome was sixth in the 4x200 at 1:52.25 and seventh in the 4x100 relay in a time of 53.40.

As a team Lowry was 11th with 19.50 points. Elko ran away with the girls state title with 163 points, while Churchill County was second at 89.50. Moapa Valley (83), Truckee (70) and Dayton (68) rounded out the top five.

On the boys side, Kevin Boyle placed fifth in the pole vault, as he cleared 11-06. Elko's Brenden Shelley went on to win the event at 13-06.

Teammate Taylor Martin also turned in a fifth-place finish in the discus with a toss of 123-06. In addition, the junior placed sixth in the shot put at 43-01.75.

Sergio Castaneda posted a seventh-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 42-10.50. The 4x200 relay of Elijah Frei, Robert Stepper, Bret Hammon and Nic Velasquez was fifth in a time of 1:37.04.

Churchill County won its second consecutive boys state championship with 171 points. Elko was second at 140, followed by Boulder City (79), Moapa Valley (61) and Fernley (49). The Buckaroos were ninth with 17 points.
