WINNEMUCCA - Lowry High School took three of its wrestlers to the USA Wrestling Western Regional in Pocatello, Idaho from June 22 - 24.
Out of the three Buckaroo wrestlers, Beau Billingsley, who won the 152-pound 3A state championship this past spring as a freshman, won his 152-pound weight class at the tournament in Idaho.
Billingsley wrestled Utah's Spencer Haywood in the championship and won 6-3 for the title. Billingsley won two more matches by pin and won an 11-3 decision to go 4-0.
In addition, Kevin Blanco at 106 pounds and Eric Brooks (120) made the trip to Idaho. Brooks went 5-2 and was stopped short of placing and Blanco did not place as well.
