A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 21, at noon, at the Unionville Community Park for William "Bill" Eugene Harmon, who died Oct. 9, 2013. Anyone who knew Bill is invited to attend and lunch will be provided. Bring your favorite stories to share with the family and your lawn chairs.
Bill was born in Reno, Nev., on April 15, 1927 to Robert and Audrey Harmon. Bill was raised in Imlay, Nev., with his brothers, John and Cliff Harmon. He graduated from Lovelock High School. Bill was on active duty with the US Marine Corp from January 1945 until April 1947 during WWII. Bill was an engineer with the Southern Pacific Railroad and retired in 1987 after 40 years. In 1967, Bill and his wife Audrey moved to Fernley when the railroad stop was moved from Imlay to Sparks. Bill volunteered many years with the Fernley Fire Department. In August 1993, when his beloved Audrey passed away, Bill returned to their home in Imlay where he was much closer to the rural areas of Nevada that he so loved.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in memory of William Harmon to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675.[[In-content Ad]]
