Harney Electric Cooperative, which has about 1,100 rural customers between northern Nevada and Oregon, held its 59th annual membership meeting in McDermitt on May 4. Special thanks were given to the McDermitt Rodeo Board for all the preparation work in hosting the event, and also Darlene Albisu, who organized the event. The meal consisted of roast beef, along with salads, rolls and desserts. Harney officials said about 200 people were fed. Some who attended won a gift as well, right. Everyone received a ballot and voted on new board members for the cooperative. Gary Miller was elected to represent District 3 - Diamond, Frenchglen, Trout Creek in Oregon; Rod Hoagland was elected to represent District 4 - Fields, Andrews and Trout Creek in Oregon - on the board. John Ugalde was elected to represent District 6, which takes in Kings River, Orovada and Daveytown within Nevada.[[In-content Ad]]
