The Battle Mountain Junior High School seventh- and eighth-grade girls basketball teams made the trip to Winnemucca on Saturday for the second round of Tri-County League play. The Shorthorns' eighth-grade team went 0-3 on the day with a 33-2 loss to Winnemucca, 41-22 to McDermitt and 25-11 to Pershing County.
The seventh-grade squad also lost three games, falling 58-6 to Winnemucca, 28-7 to Pershing County (B) and 28-18 to Pershing County (A). Battle Mountain returns to action on Friday, traveling to Lovelock for Tri-County play at 10 a.m.
