The Battle Mountain Junior High School seventh- and eighth-grade boys basketball teams made the short trip to Winnemucca on Saturday for Tri-County League play. The eighth-grade squad went 0-3 on the day, losing 47-15 to host Winnemucca, 32-28 to Pershing County and 34-22 to Eureka. The seventh graders also lost all three games, falling 16-12 to Winnemucca, 24-16 to Pershing County and 31-9 to McDermitt. The Shorthorns conclude their season today with the Tri-County championships in McDermitt, starting at 9 a.m.
