The Battle Mountain High School boys soccer team dropped two Humboldt League matches last week. The Longhorns went on the road on Sept. 6 and lost 10-0 to Elko. Battle Mountain returned home this past Saturday to host Lowry. A second-half goal by David Castellon-Escobedo cut the Buckaroo lead to 3-1, but Lowry went on to win the match 4-1. Battle Mountain is now 0-2 in league play and 1-5 overall. The Longhorns travel to Ely on Friday to face White Pine at 3 p.m. in a conference match.
