The Winnemucca Junior High School Band traveled to an adjudicated band festival in Elko on May 1. Judges for the festival were Dr. William Plenk of UNR and Rick Moffit, director of bands at McQueen High School in Reno. The junior high band received rankings of 1 (superior) and 1-plus (superior-plus). Winnemucca Junior High band director Dave Munk said he was pleased with the band's performance and the ratings earned.
