The hummingbird population is starting to thin out as fall approaches, a time of year these tiny birds start their migration south. According to the Hummingbird Journey North website www.learner.org, the migration usually takes place during August and September. The Rufous Hummingbird is the type of hummingbird typically seen in our part of the country. This hummingbird recently visited a feeder in Imlay. These small birds travel can travel up to 100 miles per day. They winter in the southern coastal areas of California and in Mexico.[[In-content Ad]]
