Arthur Dale Withers, 64, passed away July 13, 2014, at home in Winnemucca, Nev.

Arthur was born Aug.18, 1949 in Mansfield, La., to Ray and Lorrain Withers. He lived all over the world but considered Alabama and Winnemucca home. Arthur married Melanie Parry 19 years ago.

Arthur served his country during Vietnam in the United States Army. He later attended trade school for welding and became a welder for Union Pacific Railroad for many years. He also worked for the Bureau of Land Management and as a welder in the mining industry until his retirement in 1993. Arthur was a member of Sonoma Baptist Church and the Vietnam Veterans of America. His passions included reading, motor cycles, his beloved Mustang his Pomeranians, movies, Toys for Tots and listening to his beloved wife Melanie sing.

Arthur is survived by his wife Melanie, brothers Bob and John Withers and Jim Mayhan, his sister Diana and friend Melissa Jewell. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Lorrain Withers and step mother Ellen Withers.

Melanie would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to her brother-in-law John for always being a good friend and support system for Art and herself and for taking such great care of Art.

A memorial service will be held Friday July 25, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Sonoma Funeral Home in Winnemucca, Nev. (775) 623-2986.[[In-content Ad]]
