Armando Mayorga Perez, 72, returned to God Oct. 13, 2014, in Reno, Nev.

Armando was born Aug. 20, 1942, in Jalisco, Mexico, to Santos Mayorga and Zeferina Perez and was married to Maria Concepcion Mendoza for close to 50 years. The family moved to the Winnemucca area 20 years ago.

Armando attended UNAM in Mexico City, Mexico, where he studied in the field of physics and mathematics. He was a rancher and agriculturist as owner in Zacatecas, Mexico. He most recently was employed by Betteridge Janitorial and was an active member of the Roman Catholic Church. In his spare time Armando enjoyed reading, taking walks, playing with and enjoying his grandkids.

Armando is survived by his wife Maria Concepcion Mayorga, his daughter Bertha Pulido and sons Jose Santos Mayorga and Jose Armando Mayorga, grand children Elva, Salvador, Fernando, Edvardo, Moncerrat, Alan, Natalia, Daniel and Sofia, great-grandchildren Alissa, Ariana, Salvador, Jr., Camila, Reyna, Felix, Izaiah and Dominick. His mother Zeferina Perez de Mayorga, brothers Rodrigo and Jose de Jesus, sisters Carolina and Dominga and other family members Maria Guadalupe, Zulma, Liliana and Rachell.

Armando was preceded in passing by his father Santos Mayorga and a sister Maria de la Luz Mayorga.

The family would like to publicly thank the Catholic community, Father Jose and the prayer group, Boyd and Linda Betteridge and family and all their friends for all their love, help and support given during their time of need.

A celebration of Armando's life will be held Oct. 17, 2014, 10 a.m. at Saint Paul's Catholic Church in Winnemucca, Nev. Rosary was recited on Thursday evening at Sonoma Funeral Home; burial will be at Winnemucca Cemetery following the service.[[In-content Ad]]
