Argie Don (Mac) McIntosh

Argie Don McIntosh, 86, died Friday, April 19, 2013, in Boise, Idaho. Argie (Mac) was born Oct. 1, 1926, in Circleville, Utah, to Don and Rhoda Met Bird McIntosh. Argie lived in Junction, Utah, until he joined the U.S. Navy (SeaBees) in 1944 serving in the Pacific Theater and was discharged in 1946. He then went to Ely, Nev., and met Marian Smith of McGill, Nev., and after only three dates took her for his bride. They had a long and loving life together that lasted 66 years.

Mac, as he preferred to be called, returned to Utah on several occasions, on one of which he worked at the Tooele Army Depot. He moved his family to southern California for short time and then back to Ely in 1956, working for Kennecott until 1965, when he then moved to Battle Mountain, Nev., to work for the Federal Aviation Administration.

Mac retired from Battle Mountain Gold in 1988 and soon after moved to St. George, Utah, where he and his wife Marian lived until 2012, before moving to Star, Idaho.

Mac loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. He also loved working on home projects and gardening.

Mac was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He always extended a helping hand to all and never refused anyone.

Mac was preceded in death by his mother and father, younger brothers Boyd and Gerald McIntosh. He is survived by his wife Marian (Smith) McIntosh, three sons: Roger (Barbara) McIntosh of Battle Mountain, Nev., Terry (Linda) McIntosh of Ely, Nev., and Rodney (Gail) McIntosh of Star, Idaho; 12 grandchildren; Troy McIntosh, California; Eric McIntosh, Washington; Shauna (McIntosh) Harris, Nevada; Jamie (McIntosh) Wilson, Utah; Tracy (McIntosh) Fagg, Nevada; Leslie (McIntosh) Bunker, Nevada; Rachelle (McIntosh) Gifford, Idaho; Aarron McIntosh, Utah; Ryan McIntosh, Oklahoma; Jeremy McIntosh, Utah; Vincent Incerto, Illinois; Shelly Rynearson, Montana, and 21 great-grandchildren.

We love and miss you Mac.

Services and burial were held Saturday, April 27, 2013, in Ely, Nev.
