Each year, Domagala's students learn about and remember Lemaire on her birthday, June 1. This year her class decided to earn money for the local museum, which was Lemaire's lifelong dream.
The students were divided into three groups and were in charge of their own bake sale - from organizing all the details to the baking and sales. Domagala was extremely proud and impressed by their effort.
The class presented Lori Price, the Cookhouse Museum manager, with their $356 donation, and she in turn treated them to a tour of the museum. They enjoyed seeing old artifacts from the area like Native American baskets and old cash registers, plus hearing stories of the past.
Domagala's class would like to thank everyone who bought desserts as well as those who gave donations to their project. It was a fun learning experience and a valuable way to help the community in honor of someone who played such a vital part in the town's history.
