Our loving wife, mother and grandmother, Anna Marie Sayers, 6 years young and forever 39, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at her home in Winnemucca after a long illness. She was born Oct. 2, 1945, in Fort Haucchi, Ariz., to Clarence and Vivian Nichols. She has lived in Arizona, Northern California and Nevada. She worked as a professional property manager.
Marie loved playing pinochle on the internet with her team in tournaments, yard sales, rock hounding, driving in the hills and playing on ocean beaches. She also enjoyed rock hounding, taking pictures of everything, her critters - parrots, dogs, and sheep. She liked shopping, of course, for her friend's kids and yes, Christmas lights and a yard full of deer and house of globes.
She is survived by her husband Michael Sayers; best friend Dona Hodges; her children Tracy Byrne, Toni Smith, Earl Smith, Michael Smith, Jon Anthony Smith and Tamara Sayers; nineteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and two brothers, Jon and Terry Nichols. She is also survived by numerous friends and other family which she loved.
The family would like to recognize and thank everyone that helped make her illness more comfortable - all the staff at Humboldt General Hospital (too many to list) that worked so hard and helped so much. Home Health Care, thank you all so very much for your help. Humboldt Volunteer Hospice, you are very special and you go far and beyond what people may think about what you do. Thank you. To the ones she knew and the ones she did not know, who made her life better, you came and you helped more than anyone will ever know. Thank you because I do know and hope you are there again when people need you. I just cannot say enough about how good you all are.
Those wishing to share memories with the family may do so at albertsonfuneralhome.com. No public services are planned.
