Dear Mr. President,
I heard your speech on Sept. 10, the day before the thirteenth anniversary of 9/11. With all of your schooling, there are things you ought to know, but apparently do not, for you stated that no religion would sanction the murder of innocent people. You faithfully attended and belonged to a certain church in Chicago for 20 years. Yet you seem to have never heard that the first murder in human history was because of Cain's religion. (I will not list the references. Use your concordance).
In your 20 years in Rev. Wright's church, did you never hear of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ? It was the religious leaders that made a deal with Judas Iscariot to betray Him; and it was they who, before Governor Pilate, demanded His death by the cruelest form -crucifixion. Their demands were against the opinion of Governor Pilate, who said, "Why? What evil has He done?" And, "I find no fault in Him." But these religious leaders chose the release of Barabbas, a murderer, rather than Jesus, "Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth". Yes, it was because of their religion that they hated the Son of God.
In case your experience in Rev. Wright's church did not enlighten you in regard to the Apostle Paul, I will mention his experience recorded in Acts chapters 21-26. The religious leaders at Jerusalem stirred up the people against Paul and were about to kill him, but he was rescued by Roman soldiers. Then "they left off beating Paul". But followed, crying, "Away with him". Paul was allowed to speak, but at a certain point, they said, "Away with such a fellow from the earth; for it is not fit that he should live". And they were so riled that "they cast off their clothes and threw dust in the air." At the castle Paul was allowed to speak again, and the high priest "commanded them to 'smite him on the mouth.'" Yes, it was the religious leaders who demanded his death.
In Rev. Wright's church, maybe you never heard of Stephen's violent death at the hands of the religious leaders. You may read about it in Acts chapters 6 and 7. He gave them a lesson in history, and then applied it. "When they heard these things...they gnashed on him with their teeth...they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, and cast him out of the city, and stoned him." Yes, they were the religious leaders, and they murdered him because of their religion.
Mr. President, I would suggest you studying a little history. Maybe you didn't know that our forefathers came over on the Mayflower because of religious persecution, risking their lives for freedom from that; facing death in that treacherous crossing of the Atlantic to unknown hazards which cost the lives of half their number the first winter. Or maybe you never heard of the massacre of St. Bartholomew in 1572. I would suggest you reading Fox's Book of Martyrs, and think about it.
I understand that your father and grandfather were Muslims, and that you attended a Muslim school. Yet, for certain reasons, you seem to be unaware that Mohammed forced his religion on the masses at the point of a sword. I would strongly suggest that you read the book, "Because They Hate", by Brigitte Gabriel, who grew up in Lebanon. She knows first hand all about murder promoted by religion.
The news reported that the Secretary of State went to Saudi Arabia to try to get their support against ISIS. I do not know if this is still true, but seven years ago, Saudi Arabia was the only country that officially practiced beheading for apostasy. How successful do you think he will be? Did you know, Mr. President that all 19 hijackers who murdered 3,000 people on 9/11 were Muslims? And did you know that 15 of these were from Saudi Arabia? You can tell them to "be nice", but their religion tells them to "kill the infidels". And did you know that no Jew is allowed in Saudi Arabia. Any of America's airlines that fly there must sign on to "no Jew fly". Is this OK with you, Mr. President? You seem to be concerned about discrimination. What about this?
Much more could be said, but perhaps these suggestions will help you.
