Allan Robert "Jersey" Turner passed away at home Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014. Allan was 71 years old; he was born April 20, 1943, in Jersey City, N.J., to Robert and Helen Turner and laid to rest Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at the Battle Mountain Cemetery.
Jersey was preceded in death by his father Robert Turner and mother Betty; mother Helen Fauhl and father Hermann; sisters Norma Turner and Carol Kay.
He is survived by his wife Leslie, celebrating their 34th anniversary July 26, 2014. He left the lives of his children too soon: daughter Lexie of Fort Myers, Fla., and son Clinton of West Palm Beach, Fla. He leaves behind his sister Sandy Amann (San Jose, Calif.); brother Kenneth Bierach (San Jose, Calif.), brother Robert Bierach (Anacortes, Wash.); nephews Shaun, Aaron & Scott Hensley and Jason, Randy, Casey, Aaron, Trevor, Marcus, Daniel and Cole Shelton; nieces Meagan & Shawn Shelton; brother-in-laws Layne (Niki), Randy, Mark (Anne) & Bruce (Klara) Shelton; son Justin and many more great nieces and nephews and of course so many friends.
Jersey was a Battle Mountain Volunteer Fireman for 29 years and the best damn school bus driver Lander County has ever had!! His wit and humor made us laugh. He was a good husband, father, uncle, brother-in-law and true friend. Our hearts ache. We will miss him.
