Less than ideal weather conditions greeted the Lowry High School track and field teams as it closed out the regular season last Saturday at the Fernley Invitational.

The Lady Bucks' Jillian Albright fought through the conditions to finish second in the 400 meters with a time of 1 minute, 6.56 seconds. Sierra Lutheran's Camille Cassidy won the race at 1:05.55. The sophomore tied for third in the pole vault with freshman teammate Madison Montero at 7 feet, 6 inches.

Senior Rachel Sigurdson finished second in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 8-0 and she was third in the high jump at 4-8. Audrey Snow (28.40) and Meg Montero (28.69) were sixth and eighth in the 200 meters and Snow was 10th in the 100-meter dash at 13.74 and Montero was 15th in a time of 13.92.

Odessa Pearrow finished sixth in the high jump with a mark of 4-6, while Kenadee Jeppsen and Dani Ricker tied for ninth at 4-4.

Monique Rodriguez placed 11th in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 18.35 and Jasmine Marchand was 11th in the discus (79-7) and 13th in the shot put (27-11).

Hallie Caratzola finished 113th in the long jump with a leap of 13-3.50 and was 14th in the pole vault at 5-0. Ricker placed 14th in the triple jump with a mark of 27-2.50 and she was 16th in the long jump at 12-10.50. Mikayla Wilke stopped the clock at 30.65 to place 20th in the 200 meters and the sophomore was 21st in the 100-meter dash at 14.48.

Haley Weber finished 16th in the 1,600 meters in a time of 7:27.12 and she placed 23rde in the 800 meters at 3:14.65. Kadie Lynch (60-0) and Pearrow (57-11) were 22nd and 23rd in the discus and Alondra Duenas was 26th in the 400 meters with a time of 1:36.12. Jaris Dunyon placed 30th in the 100-meter hurdles at 22.59 and Shantell Pearrow was 30th in the discus at 49-4.

The 4x100 relay of Albright, Madison Montero, Snow and Rodriguez were third with a time of 55.63 and Albright, Madison Montero, Meg Montero and Rodriguez were third in the 4x200 relay at 1:58.30.

The Lady Bucks were thirds as a team with 52 points. Elko won the team title with 141.50 points and Spring Creek was second at 114.50. Fernley (51.50) and Yerington (51) were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Sergio Castaneda paced the Lowry boys with a pair of fourth-place finishes in the shot put and discus. The senior had a throw of 45-11.75 in the shot put and 123-6 in the discus.

Roberto Sanchez was one of three competitors to jump 6-0 in the high jump to finish second. However, Sanchez placed fourth after going through the tiebreakers. Elko freshman Kyrin Allen won the vent at 6-7.

Kelvin Meza finished fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 57.23, while Kobe Fitzpatrick was eighth in the 800 meters at 2:19.46. Jared Carrica placed eighth in the discus with a toss of 115.4 and Jeremiah Teichert was eighth in the pole vault at 9-6 and the senior was 16th in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 18.62

Liam Gallups ran to a 13th-place finish in the 3,200 meters at 13:32.96, Jed Teichert was 13th in the high jump, clearing 5-0 and Teichert was 20th in the 400 meters in a time of 1:03.15. Drake Kavanaugh was 13th in the discus with a throw of 108-5 and the senior was 16th in the shot put at 36-7.50.

Alan Mayorga was 13th in the 200 meters with a time of 24.96 and 15th in the 100-meter dash at 11.94 and Isaac Ramos was 14th in the 400 meters at 1:00.57. In addition, Ramos was 18th in the triple jump with a leap of 31-1.50 and the freshman was 27th in the long jump at 14-1.50.

Omar Aranjo was 16th in the 3,200 meters with a time of 13:50.78, Alex Roark was 17th in the 800 meters at 2:32.77 and Blake Hillyer (2:40.42) and Devin Dowd (2:41.90) were 21st and 23rd in the 800 meters.

Steven Cholico placed 21st in the discus with a throw of 97-11, Erik Francis was 21st in the 100-meter dash at 12.45 and Michael Wing was 22nd in the 200 meters in a time of 26.93. Hayden Jeppsen finished 23rd in the 1,600 meters at 5:34.97 and Ethan Andrews (5:50.89) and Chris Kearns (5:L51.93) were 31st and 32nd, respectively, in the 1,600 meters.

The 4x200 relay of Carlos Aguilar, Ariel Gonzalez, Mayorga and Sanchez were fifth in a time of 1:44.07 and the 4x100 relay of Aguilar, Meza, Robert Stepper and Mayorga were sixth at 48.21.

Lowry finished ninth in team standings with 29 points, while Churchill County won with 114.50 points. Elko was second at 108, Dayton was third at 91 and Fernley (62) and Spring Creek (60) were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Lowry will be at home this weekend to host the Division I-A, III and IV North Regional Championships. Action gets underway at 3 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday. The top four finishers in each event in each division advance to the NIAA State Track and Field Championships in Carson City on Friday, May 23, and Saturday, May 24.
