A.L. (Pete) Pettit

A.L. (Pete) Pettit passed away Monday, May 14, 2012, at his residence in Henderson. He was 70. Pete was born July 3, 1941, in Gustine, Texas, where he attended school and graduated in 1959. He then proudly served 6 years in the United States Air Force.

Pete eventually moved to Henderson, where he met and married Rose "Rosie" Scornovacco on Dec. 4, 1974. They moved to Battle Mountain in 1975 where they called home for the next 20 years until he retired from the Lander County School District in August 1995.

Pete was a member of the Battle Mountain Lions Club, a loyal Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Cubs fan, and he loved fishing the Ruby Marshes and C.J. Strike.

Pete is preceded in death by his dad Aaron, step-father Everett, mom Myrtle, and daughter Sherry.

Pete is survived, loved, and missed by his wife of 38 years Rose, brother Glen Casey, daughters Sammye, Lori, Dawn, and Nadeen. Sons David, Eddie, Mike, and Pete. 25 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

There will be no services as requested by Pete.
