BATTLE MOUNTAIN - Rich Adams was selected as the new Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Tuscarora field manager in Elko and he began work Aug. 13. Adams comes to Nevada from the BLM in Malta, Mont., where he was the field manager for three years.
Adams began his BLM career in fire and range as a seasonal employee in 1976 in Nevada and Montana. In 1980, Adams accepted a permanent position as a range conservationist and worked in this capacity until 1992 both in Glasgow and Butte, Mont.
He then transferred to Winnemucca as a supervisory range conservationist/rangeland management specialist until 2001 when he moved to Malta.
Adams holds a bachelor's degree in Range/Forest Management from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo.
"I am truly excited about working with the Elko BLM and the people here who are so passionate about their public lands," said Adams.
