RENO - Judy Ackerman of Sparks was honored Saturday night as the two millionth fan at Aces Ballpark.
Ackerman was at the game with her husband, Paul, and grandchildren Nolan and Gavin. The couple was babysitting their grandchildren, and decided to take them to a game.
"Their parents are at the Governor's Ball," said Paul, "and we're here having a ball!"
As the lucky two millionth fan, Ackerman received a personalized Aces jersey, a Brett Butler autographed lithograph, and two season tickets for the 2014 Aces season. Nolan threw out a ceremonial first pitch on Ackerman's behalf, and the family had a meet and greet with Butler before the game.
"Nothing says affordable, family-friendly entertainment like grandparents bringing their grandkids to a ballgame," said Eric Edelstein, Aces Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. "There is no greater representative of what the Reno Aces are all about."
The 2013 campaign marks the fifth season of baseball at Aces Ballpark.
Reno has had two playoff runs, including a 2012 Triple-A National Championship and served as proud hosts of the 2013 Triple-A All-Star festivities in the first four and a half years of the club's existence.
Tickets for all remaining Aces home games are on sale now at RenoAces.com, by calling 334-7000 or visiting the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office.
